i am a new players, i don´t understand why I can´t win points, I tried to attack another player, but I have never get a positive score,

i sent a powerfull fleet like this 70 cruisers and 1 mothership, and he has only a c2 fleet, what´s happening? i don´t understand that ´cause my ships are better than the other ships....

Well, you ran into the big is better syndrome.


A cruiser is stronger and better, but you can only attack 1 ship with your attackpoints. You cant divide your attackpoints between lets say 10 destroyers.

Your cruiser will only attack 1 destroyer and kill it, and the other 90 ap are wasted. So here's a lil example:

you and your enemie both got 300 mp:

you build 5 cruisers ( 5 x 60 = 300 )

your enemie builds 37 destroyers ( 37 x 8 = 296 )

your 5 cruisers kill 5 destroyers = + 40 points
your enemies 37 destroyers kill 3 cruisers = - 180 points.

So you will lose 140 points like this. Ships cant split their ap, but smaller ones can combine it to kill a bigger ship together.


This doesn't say that class 1 ships or class 2 ships are always better then class 3 ships. Cause if you only build like this:

4000 fighters and 1 mothership, but no c2 or c3.

And the enemie got 1 fighter, 1 destroyer, 10 cruisers and 1 mothership.

Then this will happen: 4000 fighters kill 1 fighter.
his fighter can kill one of your fighters.

but as your class 2 and class 3 are open, your class 4 mothership is undefended. The 10 cruisers will attack the mothership ( as they dont have any c3 to fight to, they move up to the next class battle ) and they will kill it. Then you will lose 320 points.

So in the end it comes to dividing your ships in the beginning between all classes and later on when you've researched all kinds of special ships, you can make different fleet setups.
