just read the forum entry:
"is this game like planetarion" in "n00behelp"
then you understand the reasons...
but maybe there could be a research which gives you a small amount of mp (or makes ship a little cheaper)
a lot of players demand more mp and if you give them a chance to gain a little it wouldnt bring the game out of balance...
those players inventing this have the drawback that other players might use the time to invent superiour ships...
