In this section I will enter my own ideas about how to get started.
The first lessons will be about basic ships, as many newbs seem to think the only way to play is with lots of researches, which is nonsense. _________________ Col.(ret.) Bogart. |

Build 2, or 3 motherships. A must
Research vessel scan. A Must also.
Next research should be Transwarp, if in an alliance, or Improved field theories if not in an alliance.
You can now build fleets of fighters destroyers cruisers and motherships.
what you build will be up to you. You will understand more in lesson 2. _________________ Col.(ret.) Bogart. |

This is newbie help Kam, I prefer dsp to vessel scans also, but, you can research vessel scan pretty much straight up, whereas you need to do improved field theories to study deep scan probe. _________________ Col.(ret.) Bogart. |

Great Idea Bogart....It will be a real asset to the new players. Some of your ideas will be controversal to the other more experienced players and no doubt bring up conflicting theories however, many new players will thank you for your time and effort to enlighten them. It should help the attendance of new players willing to stick to the game untill they learn the finer points of ST |

It kind of reminds me of the movie ... "Down By Law" ... Jim Jarmusch ... and somewhere in the movie .... the little Italian guy...I forgot his name .... says something to the effect of .... "explain it to me like to a two year old " lol ...
Cool though .... ... the explaining I mean ... |

Ahh ... Ok !!!
I've been thinking ... yeah ....
and my thoughts brought me to the idea that the protection time ought to be lengthened ...
2 days aint enough for a new player to get started properly because after their signature's been picked up, fleets get ready to attack ...
Or.... lol, this is funny one...or ... if a new player gets attacked within the first ten days of his life on spacetrace, then the new player gets the winning score .... cos at the bottom of the BR will read: "Due to your damn inconsiderate behaviour and evil attempt to eliminate a new player, your score of say...3500 will hereby be given to the attacked...oh lol ... .... ok, maybe the first thought is more acceptable ... but I think perhaps worthwhile considering ... |
