I was attacked by my enemy, except that person has no mothership. Any explaination?

Probally the player has droped his fleet on your planet.
He was flying with 2 or 3 fleets and when he was cloose to your base, he send the ms of the fleet what attacked you to an other fleet. If you remove the ms, than the fleet will fly to the coords what is most cloose, in this case your base.
There was no c4 battle, so your major didn't work.

| I personally think the Admin should enfore the Mothership rule about the Mothership actually send the fleet to attack. |

mothership are the flag ships of the fleets. so ships with warp cannot be moved while travelling through hyperspace, because the stability of the warp bubbles could suffer. if the last ship of a fleet is a warp ship it can be moved (emergency case -> demobilization of a fleet ).
other ships can be moved while travelling (this feature is very important) |
