de-stabilisation probe
with a high energy beam this probe can disrupt the warp field of one fleet within it¸s reach.
due to warp-core overload the fleet is forced to pull out of warp and re stabalise the warp core, which will take 1 hour of hard work.
due to the high energy of the beam, the probe can only be used once every 12 hrs.
also the probe does not work when a scrambler probe is active in the area.

it can only reach fleets, that are on a hyperjump to a target within a sector within it`s scanradius. then the subspace carrier waves of that fleets are already close enough to real-space.
and the probe could be destroyed in the process. |

Can be fun to use, but fucked up when it's used against you. Otherwise, nice. But since it only works every 12 hours, no self-destrust needed i think. |

I like the idea, but i'm wondering. Wounldn't it be too advantagous for putting at the BH? Wat happens if an alliance start to sent 1 of these probes like every two hours. They can keep fleets from attacking for quite awhile |

I agree with BlackMagic. You could mess up the whole BH. And for big alliances it would be possible to shut down complete planets.
It could be useful if it sends out a signal that makes a warp core unstable, but de stabilaze its own warp core too so that it blows up.
And I wonder about the probes, there are 9 probes to build, but you can have only three or four active. And this probe for one would be rather tricky to use. If you are lucky a fleet passes by, otherwise.....
I say we leave the probes for what they are and try to concentrate on ships and researches. But this is what I think about it.

For the BH problem, there is one simple solution, one scrambler probe can disrupt all De-stabilisation probes within it's reach, and therefor this tactic can easily be countered, also a fleet pulled out of warp is only disabled for 1 hour, after that it can fly through, to it's destination.
There are a lot of other tactics to make sure the probe will not work.
Quote: | it can only reach fleets, that are on a hyperjump to a target within a sector within it`s scanradius. |
make sure your fleets destination is not within it's radius and nothing will happen, pull your fleet out of warp yourself when you fly above your destination coords. etc.

@Steven1982, I believe the description will cause any fleet that come within the scan radius of the probe to drop out of warp, which will prevent the strategy of dropping out of warp in your enemy coordinate.

Well then i should have made the discription maybe a bit more clear, but i believe that
Quote: | with a high energy beam this probe can disrupt the warp field of one fleet within it¸s reach. |
And
Quote: | the probe can only be used once every 12 hrs |
should say enough, that not any fleet will be dropped out of warp, the probe should be controllable i think, so you can choose which fleet you want to drop out of warp, and because admin filled in that it can only target fleets which have a hyperjumpgate within it's reach, my strategy will work.
Offcourse i am allways right, i invented the thing

well i suppose its a good idea, but like most other probes..it probably won't be used much. Look at the trace probe, osillation, etc.... People just don't use them much. Just hope this can have a bigger impact than the others did

Since most experience players know the strategy "exiting out of warp at their designated target", the probe has no reason to exist. |

@doomstar: you said it yourself... most expirienced players know the strategy, and not all players are expirienced.
There wil always be n00bs to use it against them, so why not add this probe? i would like to use it on some players

I don't exactly know what you are trying to say. But I think taht I can speak for most veteran and experienced players to say that they know the importance of new players and will act likewise. So there will be no more n00b bashing then there would be now.

Unknowingly we need them n00bs. They are the potential people that will add to the number of players in spacetrace (Which we really need) and they are the people that the top players get a lot of thier points from.

I have give a use to the Trace Probe
Put one on your base and will record all the coordinates of fleet in its scanradius.
You might don't have the coordinate of your enemie and this is a solution
About this probe...
I will research Final Exploration, make 4 probe and put them all in an enemy base, so he cannot help his alliance from others attack
