I am attempting to calculate the best way to spend my points for a fleet, and one of the configurations would include 2 Jump ships of differing speeds.

My Question is this at what speed would the fleet travel if it consisted of 1 Fleet Tender (move8) and one Core Driver (move1)?

Anyone tried this combo?

Thanks both of you, Was not looking for added speed was worried about lowest speed setting pace of fleet. Thanks again.

Your fleet will move at maximum warp (warp 8 )

The warp speeds are not added. The fastest ship builds up a Hyperspace-portal where the fleet flies through, and that's it ^^

New thought.

This is mostly for the Admin but your opinions count for a lot as well.

ITEM 1:
what if all class 4 ships could move self at warp 1 or better for jump ships, And some additional ships from each class able to self propell at W 1. this would throw off some obvious tactics presently avalible. deteca a fleet aproch consisting of only 1 class 1 and you know it is a lone suiside ship. detect a fleet with a lone class 4 as speed 1 and know it is a core driver. with 4 or 5 possibils it makes this not so easy to ID and increases flexability of tactics. If the DoomStar were self propeled at speed 1 you could as easily send it or a core driver to a target and they would not know if defence is need or not.

ITEM 2:
All war ships should be able to inflict at least a minium of damage, as a former service men, I know that when we were attacked everyone grabed weapons of every type and started shooting back.. If my vehicle were attacked I had a bucket of rocks under the passangers seat and my passanger had been informed that if we were attacked and we ran out of ammo (not hard to do)the rocks were for throwing while I drove at 40-55 miles an hr. (Max speed vehicle govener permited) trusting to vehicle armor to save our tails. and the arm of my passanger to carry the attack.

well, there were many ideas concerning ships faking the dsp-data.

-> the easiest were a ship that does nothing but sends out a wrong information to any dsp (maybe choosed by the user)
or
ships that cost hardly nothing and do hardly nothing except selfdestruct in the beginn of battle. e.g. fakecruiser (4mp, destroys itself at the beginn of battle----but faked the fleet ID)

--> those ships are not build as it is allready hard enough to plan a battle against fleet whiches ID or even complete fleet constellation is known.

--> manipulation the dsp-ID would not bring tactic into the game but chaos for you never have a real idea what you are fighting against. so why should i plan a battle then anymore?

hey these ships are really cool, and i like to have it. faking dsp data is not too bad for attackers, and fake-power ( bluff) was always part of strategy. In the end they do nothing... its just radar-jamming... pls. pls. give it to me

p.s. you could balance it with another invention: scout-vessel: class 2, can fly on its own, but cannot open a jumpgate for any other vessel, warp 8, selfdestruction, 10/10, 50 mp ( just to check the enemies fleet composition)
this would shift the game to a more realistic style...
