here our suggestions :
every player gets 1000 troopers
they stand around home
if you wanna get them somewhere you need a troop transport
troop transport
class 2
5/10
carries 10 troopers
by building this ship and controlling it the whole ground troops will be controlled (that makes it more easy)
if soemone attacks you (like now) ,but with troop transports and after the battle there are troop transports left , the ground battle begins.
if the attacker has more or equal troops in his fleet, he can choose to do this:
- stopping one production
- exchanging one research with you
- destroying one or more probes
- steal 3 com-links (out of the com-screen)
- getting the names of 50% of the alliance members
--------------------------------------
think of:
- the control of the troopers is easy; just control the ship
- noobs can easy deal with this threat -> every player has 1000 troopers, an attacker must attack with 100 troop transports to attack a noob; anyway... noobs have no researches to steal and no com links and often no alliance

you wouldn loose them, if they die in battle, coz their troop transporter is destroyed, then you automatically hire new troopers at your homeplanet (alike the manpoweer) |

I like this idea quite a lot, could be fun stealing stuff from folk. But what exactly does exchanging research mean??

exchange means, that u choose one of your own researches you will give away to the attacked player and you can choose, which research you would like to have from him. the research you give away will be deleted in your science and the same to the other. |

e.g. If I have exchanged my Mantis research to a Nitides race (which cannot research Mantis), can I research back Mantis? |

1. With it I can cut down certain research time from 6 days to 1 day.
2. Get ships that my race can't research on.
Can you exchange research with alliance members by landing your troops on their planet? |

What if you use your mothership /or whatever pulls your fleet )/ for a troop transport - you simply deploy the crew of that ship to start the ground battle? BTW, here is the balance - if you use 1 mothership, that's too bad - you can't move your fleet; if you use 2 - more MP needed; if you use a core driver - less ground troops; a time-slipper - less free MP for the space battle - and I think that you can't dispatch troops while the battle is in progress, and space is filled with lasers, torpedoes, and of course, debree , not to mention the defense array.
Also, when you defeat the ground force, what about enslaving the local population - more MP? Of course, the larger the ground force, the larger the number of slaves - +10% of the
MP on the ground permanently added to your MP? Or something like that?
And maybe the ground troops /when in defense/ should first have a fight with the enemy class 1 only /for example - the defender has less fighters than the attacker - after the class 1 fight, the defender's ground force fight with the enemy's remaining fighters/ - a fighter can be shot down by a ground trooper, and also can hunt and destroy that trooper... But try shooting down a cruiser with an anti-air /space? / gun - or try to lower the cruiser in the atmosphere for bombarding the ground - it's not Brood War after all )
Also, you might decide to build more ground troops - either for attack or defense... and you'll need more MP of course...
And the troop transports can be like a c-cannon modules, mounted on the mothership... |

I think if the troop transport don't cost MP it must don't attack, and maybe got more LP so...
Troop transport
class 2 (why 2?) eagles...
0/20
carries 10 troopers
now the questions...
how many troopers you need to get his things? 1 trooper transport? 2? 10? 100?
You lose points if the ships are destroyed?
your enemy decide what to give you? you decide? or it's random?
you have to attack his base for do that? or if you find him/her in the space you can do it too?
so, if somebody "stole" you that research, you cannot research it never?
OH and I think stopping one production maybe not be good, becuase I can reserach 1500 figters one by one

Is not better can survey the enemy or allie research to known that researh and is that troop tranport survive to return to the base can use that information to research tecnologies you don't have? |

This tropers will copy the list of abandoned planets. Like that you have discover that planet.

i think planes don`t have that strong importancy yet, but i think this in nice:
